Small steps equal the accomplishment of large steps
Every website has an overall goal for its visitors. Overall goals may be one or several of the following examples:
- Purchase a product on-line (e-commerce website)
- Supply you with information to contact them (lead generation website)
- Spend more time on your website so you can sell on-line ads (content website)
- Looking up a troubleshooting guide (self-service website)
- Download a white paper (lead generation website)
To reach your goal (macro-action), visitors go through individual conversion points (micro- action) to gain the confidence they need to do what you want them to do . The conversion points - again the micro-actions - become the click paths and the scenario paths for each of your customer segments.
In order to achieve your macro-action your customers must make the decision to click on the next link. Measuring each micro-action, or clicks, on each page allows you to measure the success of the page you're reviewing. The more micro-actions taken, the closer your prospects are getting to reaching your goal and their goal.
During the wireframe phase of our process, every click, every link, and every micro and macro-action is documented and planned out to reach the optimal amount of conversion.
